Dear 1E1 students, Please read ALL of this post if you are attending the chalet. As the chalet was booked late, I did not have the time to give a thorough briefing but I trust that you guys already know what to do since you had a chalet in June. First off and MOST IMPORTANTLY, please be extra careful and be responsible for yourself. The bungalow premises is big and I do not want to see anyone wandering off by yourself. ALWAYS walk around in groups or at least pairs. Boys, this applies to you too and I do not want to hear of stories of somebody getting lost in the jungle, etc (you get my drift). Second off, DO NOT enter anywhere near water (be it the sea or swimming pool, if there is any). I am particularly strict on these two conditions and those who do not abide by these conditions will be seriously reprimanded. All your parents are invited to the chalet and they are most welcomed to stay overnight if they wish to. Now, I shall briefly highlight what you should do/bring on the day (8 Nov, Monday). Going there Meet Henrietta at Kovan Macs @ 12pm. All of you will take bus 81 to Tampines Interchange. At Tampines, take an hour or two to buy all the necessary food. IMPORTANT: check that all food is HALAL, as there are some Muslims teachers and students. I suggest all of you spilt yourselves into groups. (Henrietta, pls allocate what each group is supposed to buy.) Meet up at 3pm sharp @ Bus 29 stand inside Tampines Interchange. Miss Zakiah will meet all of you. Follow her and she will bring you to the chalet. Once you reach, pls pls pls bear in mind my TWO golden rules mentioned earlier. (I can’t help but repeat this again because it is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT.) Leaving For those who are NOT staying overnight, pls prepare to leave at 9pm. Follow Miss Nisha and she will guide you back to Tampines Interchange. Those who live at Hougang can continue to follow Miss Nisha back. For those who do not, you may take transport back yourself. We will let you know on the day itself who you should SMS once you are home. IMPORTANT: YOU ARE EXPECTED TO GO HOME AND NOT ANYWHERE ELSE. I understand that some of you have concerns and you may not wish to leave at 9pm as some wish to leave earlier/later. Now, because the location of the bungalow is right at the end of the road, Miss Nisha and I feel that it is safer for you to leave in big groups. So, please leave at 9pm sharp. For those who wish to leave later than 9pm, I’ll require your parents to come and send you back. Please DO NOT negotiate on this as Miss Nisha and I are both very firm for your safety. Things to Bring Necessities like toiletries, clothes, TOWEL, comb, etc etc (esp those staying overnight) DVDs! This is alright if you wish to have a DVD marathon SNACKS! For DVD marathon and any other time that you may be hungry (this includes cup noodles for yourself) Board games/cards Soccer ball/Bball? $$ to pay for the chalet some extra $ just in case Extra/Important Info: On the website, Aloha says “Occupants should observe the recommended capacity of each bungalow and/or chalet and should keep noise level to the minimal after 11pm. Aloha Resorts Management reserves the right to request Occupants who are found to have violated this regulation to leave the resort.” Please try to maintain a low-profile or else we will run into major issues. The recommended no. of people: The suitable group size for day use is maximum 40 persons only; 8 persons only for night use. Also, “use of air-con at aloha Loyang and aloha Changi is free for up to maximum of 25 units per day. Any consumption beyond the maximum will be charged accordingly and to be paid upon check-out.” I don't really know what 25 units are. But please go green and save electricity. And lastly, pls clean up the place after all the fun and laughter. As some of you may already know, Aloha complained about the dirty condition of the June Chalet. I do not want to hear of any similar complaints, so make sure when you do your part and when we leave the place, its spick and span. OKAYYY, I apologise for the long (and rather naggy) post. As you can see, all of you are turning me into a naggy granny =p I’ll see you guys come Monday. With Love, Ms Mindy Tan
